“Nobody who lived through the ‘50s thought the ‘60s could’ve existed. So there's always hope.”
Naphtali “Tuli” Kupferberg, poet and songwriter, 10/29/1923- 07/12/2010
But I think there was something happening to many if not most middle class young people andit was not just about drugs or extreme politics. It seemed to me that there were some social forces at work pushing and bending the structure of society, not the usual social forces often commented on such as anit-war or civil rights, but more like McLuhan was writing about, hot media to cool media, print culture to electronic global vilage, individualism to global village.
Most of us were wondering about life, trying new things, searching for some meaning in our own personal way. Political or social beliefs did not matter, there were no guides for most of us and we ventured off into unknown places often making a new trail that lead to a dead end. I think some of these images show that.
Lately I have begun seperating some of these images out into sub groups and arranging them iinto smaller exhibiitonst (see left for links). Otherwise the images are in two groups, people and places and you can access using the links in the right sidebar.
