“A circle is a simple shape of Euclidean geometry consisting of those points in a plane
which are equidistant from a given point called the center. The common distance
of the points of a circle from its center is called its radius.”

What is a thing book

Book: What is a Thing?. Some pages about what is a thing and why things are important. A PDF file, 5mb

The circle, square and triangle are the most favored shapes of Nature. They are economical, efficient, very regular and easily duplicated, and their symmetry makes them visually attractive. Actually in nature these shapes are rarely even near perfect, the words are actually a human concept, an example of concept as a thing which we use commonly to mean many different things but in our conversations we are generally clear as to what is be referred.

People in design use these basic shapes and the actual shapes created by people are near perfect. After so many years of increasingly more and more near perfect shapes I wonder what this does to our ability to experience these shapes, however vague, in nature, which might be a more primeval human experience and even have fond memories for us, if we can see them.Does nature appear not quite as perfect as those objects made by people?
